Dr Hecham Harb is the Medical Director of Endocare and a Consultant Endocrinologist with more than 20 years of international experience in obesity and diabetes care. He leads Endocare’s medical team, overseeing the Mounjaro, Wegovy and Ozempic programmes.
Areas of expertise
Dr Harb’s main clinical focus is non-surgical weight loss and the complications of obesity. His expertise also includes:
- type 2 diabetes and its complications
- thyroid and parathyroid conditions
- pituitary, adrenal and sex hormone disorders
- osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease
He is a regular speaker at medical conferences and on national television, where he shares his insights on the latest research.
Qualifications and training
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Endocrinology and in Internal and Acute Medicine
- Specialty Certificate in Endocrinology and Diabetes from the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom
- Honorary obesity and weight control fellowship at Austin Health, Melbourne, Australia
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Damascus University, followed by certification in Internal Medicine from the Syrian Board
Clinical experience
In Australia, Dr Harb has worked as a consultant endocrinologist at Albury Wodonga Health and MedAlliance Physicians Group. He has also held an adjunct senior lecturer position at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
In the Middle East, he has practised as a consultant endocrinologist and internal medicine specialist at Royal Bahrain Hospital and Bahrain Specialty Hospital in Bahrain, and at Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group in Saudi Arabia.
